We were delighted to welcome Uachtarán Tofa CLG Nickey Brennan to Clooney this morning.
St Mary’s GAC, Ahoghill were delighted to receive a visit from GAA President Elect Nickey Brennan today. Having already visited the Dunloy and Ballymoney clubs, the President Elect was warmly welcomed by committee members from the small rural club in Ahoghill.
On a fact finding tour organised by Antrim Hurling Development Officer Seamus Elliott Nickey Brennan was interested to see the development of the Club and was particularly interested in gathering feedback as to the difficulties the Club have experienced in recent times.
Speaking to the Committee, Mr. Brennan praised the efforts the club was making in the development of their facilities, and for the efforts being made on the ground in the form of coaching and team development. In addition, he stated that the Club was fulfilling its role within the community, and that the community as a whole was all the richer for it.
Club Chairman Danny O’Neill expressed his gratitude to Nickey Brennan for taking time out to visit St Mary’s Ahoghill and thanked him for his understanding and advice and wished him well in his forthcoming presidency.
