SEAN STINSON’S HEAD INTO THE WEST IN SEARCH OF ALL-IRELAND GLORY 27 June 2007

All-Ireland Féile Peil Na nÓg 2007 Preview

Having secured the Antrim U12 County Title in 2005, that particular crop of Sean Stinson players had taken the first steps on what many involved with both Ahoghill and Portglenone clubs hoped would be a long and successful road through the age grades.

Now almost two years later, yet another chapter is about to be written on their football journey together. Some had spoken about an Antrim Féile title being an achievable goal,Patek Philippe Replica Watches and a chance to showcase this highly talented bunch of players skills at a national Féile, but few dared to speak too soon.

June 2007 however sees the dream become a reality, as the Stinson U14 squad finalise preparations for the All-Ireland Féile Peil Na nÓg, taking place in Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo.

In mid-May, Sean Stinson’s convincingly won the club’s first county Féile football title beating Davitt’s 3-9 v 0-6 on a memorable day for the SW Antrim amalgamation team.

In doing so they qualified to represent Antrim on the national stage, and their journey begins on Friday 29th June when the team bus pulls out, bound for the small village of Coolaney, just south of Sligo town.

Playing in Division 3 of the Féile, Stinson’s will face host club Coolaney on the Friday evening, then on Saturday will play two games against Coolera (also from Sligo), and St. Loman’s (Westmeath).

No matter what the outcome, this will be both a unique, and rewarding experience for the young players and mentors alike, and with a little luck to go with their abundance of skill, hopefully they can make it to a Final in Pairc Seán Mac Diarmada to start July with a bang!
