P6/P7 Camogie 10 February 2014

Antrim County P5/P6 Indoor Blitz

The camogie season officially started on Saturday 8th February with our P5/P6 girls competing in the 5-a-side indoor blitz organised by the county. The first in a series of blitzes for the underage teams, the venue was St. Louis in Ballymena, where we were up against Geraldine's Portglenone, St Ergnats Moneyglass and St Mary's Rasharkin, playing each one twice during the session.

Our squad was Rioghnach Cairns, Tara McDonnell, Niamh Neeson, Emma O'Donnell, Gemma O'Donnell,Hannah O'Donnell and Aimee Quinn.

The early start was showing on our girls as it took the first 2 games to get warmed up and we were caught out by some "lucky" scores from the opposition. Swiss Replica Watches Once we got into our stride the goals started flowing and helped by some brave defending and goal keeping skills, we started getting better results from the remaining games. Despite the non competitive rules of the blitz, there were some strong tackles and competitive games on the pitch and the will to win was obvious from all the girls!
The pre-christmas indoor sessions paid off with a great start to the season and a good first outing with great effort from all the girls. Thanks to Chrissie Doherty and the county for arranging this well organised blitz and we look forward to the next one on 1st March!

Good luck to the U12 indoor team for this Saturday (15th)!
