TENNENTS COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DRAWS FOR 2004 24 February 2004

The draws for all Tennents County Championships were made at the Bass Brewery in Belfast last night.

There is cause for optimism for all teams involved as the draws look to be favourable for the club.

There are a couple of interesting ties to say the least, with a great local derby game in prospect for the U-21's against neighbours Casements. After their good run in the competition last year they will be hoping to progress even further with most of last year's team returning to play again this time round.

The Junior footballers are paired with first-timers St. Brigid's from South Belfast - this club is taking it's first steps into senior grade football this year after several successful years with their Juvenile setup.

The Intermediate C'ship sees a repeat of last year's Preliminary round fixture against St. Pauls, and if the club wins this tie the rest of the draw looks favourable!

Finally the hurlers come up against Ardoyne Kickhams, and will renew old rivalries from a few years back when both clubs contested the Div 4 league.

The fixtures are as follows (dates to be confirmed);

U-21 FOOTBALL C'SHIP
Casements, Portglenone v St. Mary's, Ahoghill

JUNIOR HURLING C'SHIP
Clooney Gaels v Ardoyne Kickhams

JUNIOR FOOTBALL C'SHIP
St. Mary's, Ahoghill v St. Brigid's, Belfast

INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL C'SHIP
St. Mary's, Ahoghill v St. Pauls

(Full details of all draws to follow)
