Well said oul han. The game is different nowadays anyways. When the current team gets hit a slap, on runs the physios with their medical equipment and performance enhancing gels and sprays. The golden oldies had to make do with a splash of 'magic water' and then if that didn't work joe 'florence nightingale' downey would have done his tried and tested 'which leg hurts' examination. The result would be oldies by 3 or 4 points! |

Hi everyone,
We are happy to say Antrim GAA can now start rolling out Level 1/Award 1 courses. Due to the huge demand for these courses, there will be a limit of one person per club for each Hurling Level course, and a limit of one person for each Football Level one course, e.g. if you are a dual club, you are allowed one football and one hurling entry. If you are a football or hurling only club, you are allowed only one entry in your specific code. This is to allow every club an opportunity to avail of these courses. There is a limit of 24 places for each course and it will be on a first come first served basis.
(I will be sending an email next week asking for entries to the Level 1 Adult course which will be held in January & February).
The first course will be a Level 1 Child (for detailed outline please read file attached):
Aimed at: Coaches of Juvenile Teams (U12 and below)
Entry Requirements: Foundation Level / Foundation Award Course. Course Candidates will be 18 years or over. Candidates will be asked to abide by the GAA Code of Best Practice in Youth Sport
Duration: 21 Hours (rolled out over two weekends). You must attend all modules to be accredited.
Course Fee: £80
Dates Football Child Level 1: Weekend 1 – Friday, December 4th from 7pm-10pm & Saturday, December 5th 9.30am to 5pm. Dates Football Child Level 1: Weekend 2 – Friday, January 8th from 7pm – 10pm & Saturday, January 9th 9.30am to 5pm. Location: St. Comgall’s Primary School, 1 Ballymena Road, Antrim.

I think the football team of the nineties would have trounced the current outfit. Lead by the enigmatic John 'Bellew' Devlin, Joe 'another leg in the bag' Downey and Gareth 'rock the turkey house' Hardy, we would surely have prevailed. Congrats to the football team. If youse need any advice, youse know where to go..... |
